Large Item Pickup Info


Free large item collection service is available to all households within the city’s

corporate limits. To utilize this service, residents must call the city’s vendor,

Habitat for Humanity, to schedule a pick up or submit a request online

through the vendor’s website. This service is available now. 

Then beginning April 1, residents may also to choose to drop off items

themselves. Individuals must pre-schedule a drop off date and time by calling

Habitat for Humanity or can opt for curbside pickup. Please note that proof of

city of residency is required for pick up and/or drop off service.

To schedule your pick up service or drop off items, please call 217.523.2710. You

may also fill out a form online by visiting Habitat for Humanity and clicking

“ReStore” in the menu. Or visit the city’s website.

All eligible city residents qualify for free scheduled residential curbside pickup or

drop of up to six (6) items per calendar year. Pick up/drop off can be divided into

two (2) pickups/drop offs of three (3) items per scheduled pick up/drop off or

one (1) scheduled pick up/

Branch Pickup Info


Springfield’s fall residential branch pickup will begin in the

NORTHWEST quadrant of the city on Monday, October 8.  The

fall curbside branch pickup will be set for one (1) pick up for

each area and follow a pre-set schedule over four (4) weeks. The

city will be divided into four (4) directional quadrants that the

collection schedule will follow. These areas are listed below.

Crews will be in each quadrant once and branches must be

placed curbside by 6:00 a.m. the Monday of the assigned pickup

week to ensure branch pick up and disposal by city crews.

 Week of October 8th

•         Northwest Quadrant – area north of South Grand Avenue

and Old Jacksonville Road.  West of Walnut Street/J David Jones


Week of October 15th

•         Southwest Quadrant – area south of South Grand Avenue

and Old Jacksonville Road.  West of Walnut Street.

Week of October 22nd

•         Southeast Quadrant– area south of South Grand Avenue

and east of Walnut Street, including the properties around Lake


Week of October 29th

•         Northeast Quadrant – area north of South Grand Avenue

and east of Walnut/J. David Jones Parkway.

this pick up schedule, smaller branches may be placed in brown

yard waste bags or containers to be picked up along with your

yard waste.  Residents may also drop off branches free of

charge year-round to Evans Recycling with proof of residency.

This service is not for commercial contractors but for city

residents only. Evans Recycling is located at 2100 J. David Jones

Parkway and is open Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and

Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 12-noon.
